National Skills Academies – a reminder • First Academy launched (Construction) in 2006 • Employer-led centres of training excellence • Operating in all key sectors of the economy, from process industry to creative & cultural to retail to nuclear to construction • Business leaders have taken control of the design and delivery of learning in their industry • Accreditation of training providers to supply world-class programmes • In the current economic climate, National Skills Academies are enabling industry to develop people and industry ready for the upturn Supported by: www. process.nsacademy.co.uk

NSAPI - History • Launched in January 2008, with strong support from NEPIC • Employer-led to up-skill the UK Process Industry to global standards • Accreditation of training provision to supply world class programmes for the Sector • Head Office based in Darlington • Remit to cover the ‘traditional process technologies’............. NSAPI – progress to-date since 2008 ..... with pharmaceutical, chemical, polymer & downstream petroleum companies • Strong engagement with Industry with over 60 Companies involved, driving the agenda through our Main Board and Regional teams • A Business Partnership approach with Account Directors working directly with Employers developing bespoke solutions • A Business Referral process linking Employer training needs to our Network of Providers • A Strategic Alliance with Cogent our SSC providing a ‘one stop shop’ approach –developing and deploying industry Gold standards for technical, business improvement, compliance and management/leadership training Supported by: www. process.nsacademy.co.uk

NSAPI – Products & Services The Academy, in conjunction with Cogent Sector Skills Council, has developed a range of world class products and services :- Benchmarks workforce skills to the industry Gold Standard. Identifies skills gaps and opportunities for performance improvement. Provides employers with the confidence that any training undertaken is fit-for-purpose, via the Skills Academy’s accredited provider network A skills benchmark for world-class performance Assessment System for Employer Training (ASET) to measure employer-delivered training compared to the competence requirements expressed in the Gold Standard for a given role The Skills Passport provides employers & employees with a user-friendly, online record of their accredited and non accredited training & qualifications, creating a full skills profile of the learner Productivity & Competitiveness (PAC) – a tool box aimed at increasing efficiency through better training and competence, which really delivers bottom line results.
