  7. Workload • Be prepared for: Travelling between faculties Burnt weekends Projects and finals

  8. Internships • Compulsory accounting internship • Flexible - accounting/finance related • Modified semester • PLAN carefully! • Internships are important! • The earlier you know what you want, the better

  9. Career Prospects • Advantages: • “Impressive” • Unique/special (can be a disadvantage too) • Exposure to both disciplines • Finance knowledge (ability to understand financial statements a huge plus) • Disadvantages: • Time/discipline extremely important • Both are specialized – skills/knowledge transferable? • Non-academic commitments?

  10. Career Prospects • Where do you want to go? • Engineering or Accounting or Finance? • Accountancy or Business degree? • Academic results only get you the interviews • Rest is up to you

  11. Additional Pointers • Know what you want/why you want to do DDP • Know your strengths and plan “buffer mods” • Be wary of “webcast-traps” • Go for exchange if you can • Have an idea of what to have in your CV • Keep on track with suggested curriculum • More flexibility (pre-requisites less of an issue) • Batchmates
