  1. Do Now! 11/7/16 • Go to www.socrative.com • Join room name “PETERS216” • Complete the quiz (it is not a graded quiz) • Homework: Gummy Bear labs due Monday

  2. Gummy Lab • The type of solute did not matter (salt vs. sugar) • We are dealing with the concentration of water • Concentration of water outside the bear vs. inside the bear

  3. Distilled Water • No solute outside which means high concentration of water • Lots of solute (sugar) inside, which means lower concentration of water • Which way will water move?

  4. Salt Water • Some solute (salt) outside which means high concentration of water • Lots of solute (sugar) inside which means low concentration of water • Which way will water move?

  5. Which one had “more” Osmosis? • Salt or Distilled? • Distilled • Why? • There was a higher concentration of water outside in the distilled setup, than the concentration of water outside in the salt setup.
