  2. Academic Honors • Junior year, semester 2 • CONGRATULATIONS, Vikings!

  3. Individual Planning Meetings • Finishing up this week • Did you miss yours or did I miss you? • Come by next week during your lunch period to have your meeting

  4. Next on the Senior Agenda • Time to get those applications started!

  5. Match schools • Based on your ACT score and GPA, you should have a list of Match schools • All students should apply to: • ONE Target school • ONE Reach school • ONE Safety school

  6. But remember—YOU are not a number! • Think about what you have to offer a school • How does your personal statement show that you are unique in a positive way, or explain your academic record? • Do you have good teacher recommendations? • BRAG sheet • Good relationships = good recommendations, and that means a LOT! • Have you taken difficult classes when given the opportunity?

  12. Don’t forget! • Completing and submitting your application is just the first step! You must then: • Request your transcript on www.parchment.com • Request your test scores from Ms. Chinchilla • Request an application fee waiver from Ms. Chinchilla • Submit additional documents (if required) • Such as: Teacher and Counselor Recommendations • Personal Statement • Portfolio If these steps are not complete, your application isn’t either!

Parchment Instructions • Go to www.parchment.com • Click “Sign Up” to create an account. • Scroll down to where it says “My Transcripts” & click “Add your High School”. • Once you’ve added Amundsen, you can then search for and click on the schools you’ve applied to (or type in the address to which the transcript should be sent (you can only do this when your college application is complete). • Check-in with the Counseling Office for information on application fee waivers and sending your ACT scores • Check with the college/employer/scholarship program to make sure that the transcript was received. 
