  2. Distance Education and UAOnline The improvements to UAOnline have come about as part of the process of improving distance education coding. The results are more robust search features and more critical information being displayed to students.

  3. New Searches and New Class Information • Brand new Quick Search • Improved Advanced Search • New class attributes for: • New course categories • Course pacing • Course meeting times (synchronicity) • Course delivery methods

  4. Timing Implementation is for fall 2011: • Changes are planned to go live and be viewable March 28, 2011 • Registration with the new changes will be April 4, 2011

  5. UAOnline Quick Search The new Quick Search gives students: • The option to search by traditional, distance, or both types of courses • An open search field that provides Google-like search functionality. • The ability to easily choose as many subjects as desired using a simple mouse click. NOTE: Final format of this UAOnline page is still being refined. This is not final.

UAOnline Advanced Search Part One: Top Half The Advanced Search offers: • All the features of the Quick Search. • The ability to fine-tune searches and search by the new data fields; course category, meeting time, or pacing attributes. • Most search fields allow choosing more than one option simply by clicking with the mouse. The choice of campus will dynamically alter the display of subjects showing only those active subjects for the selected campus. UAOnline Advanced Search Part Two: Bottom Half The Advanced Search offers: Pacing attribute • All the features of the Quick Search. • The ability to fine-tune searches and search by the new data fields; course category, meeting time, or pacing attributes. • Most search fields allow choosing more than one option simply by clicking with the mouse. Summary • Students will have access to searches that they can customize to their needs. • Students can search specifically for distance classes, traditional classes, or both. • Search results give students more information about the format and expectations for the class. • Delivery method will be associated with equipment requirements which will be available to students with the click of a mouse.
