You will recognize me by my ever-changing trees, large variety of wildlife, and beautiful plants. Step inside me and you will feel leaves crunching under your feet, a cool breeze, and the sun shining through the leaves. Look around me and you will see beautiful flowers such as bluebells, primroses, and oxlips. I am the temperate deciduous forest. Visit me in the summer but you will need light clothes, because it is hot an humid. You may also need a slicker because I have more than 18 inches of rain in the summer. However, in the winter you will find you need a warm coat and boots, because I get chilly in winter. I can even get below freezing. My climate is temperate, from 70° to below 0° and I get an average yearly precipitation of 20 to 60 inches. Summers are hot and humid while winters are cold. I am the temperate deciduous forest. I provide a home for bald eagles, black bears, chipmunks, and deer, as well as many insects. But you would never find a rhinoceros or penguin in my domain. Listen closely and you will hear the rustle of wings as a bird flies overhead. If you are in Australia, you may hear the splash of a duck-billed platypus. I am known for my Tawny Milkcap or Shiitake mushrooms, carpet moss, and lady ferns. Look closely and you will see mosquitoes, spiders, beetles, ants, and centipedes.
