  2. What Is the Surgery Procedure for Laparoscopy? • Laparoscopic surgery is a kind of fertility surgery, which is a keyhole surgery generally done to check the position of your tubes and condition of your uterus and ovaries. In this surgery, a video camera is passed through an incision to check if any abnormality is present. If it is found that there are some abnormalities inside, then it is surgically treated with inserting special instruments through four other small incisions, which are generally hidden in the pubic hair. This surgery is mostly done with general anaesthesia and takes around 2-3 hours.

  3. What Are the Risks and Benefits of Laparoscopic Surgery? • One of the main risks associated with this surgery are the injuries that might be caused by the trocar (device inserted into the abdomen) placement. • The electrodes being used in the surgery may leak current and cause electrical burnt to some of the surrounding tissues. • The carbon dioxide gas passed is likely to form pocket and rise in the abdomen, which may cause shoulder pain and difficulty in breathing. • Coagulation disorders are often found as a side effect. • This surgery benefits in endometriosis, removes cysts in the ovary, scar tissues and removes damaged tubes.
