Hybrid Working- The New Black

On the workplace culture, the COVID-19 epidemic has had a significant impact. Approximately 5u201310% of people worked remotely prior to the current scenario, and a similar number of people were part of a hybrid culture. However, the global trend toward remote work has increased due to the epidemic.   2. INTRODUCTION The COVID-19 pandemic has made quite a big impact on the working culture. Before this situation had arisen, roughly, 5–10 % of the people used to work remotely, and around the same percentage of people in a hybrid culture. Numerous companies went completely remote in the last two years due to severe lockdowns and isolations.

  3. DIFFERENT HYBRID WORKING MODELS BASED ON THE ENVIRONMENT: 1. Prefer to work fully remote: Under this hybrid model, it allows the employees to prioritize to work in a completely remote environment.. This model works best for the companies which work fully remote. They can acquire employees from anywhere in the world who will work for the company with less stress and more freedom of working hours. Prefer to commute to the office: Similar to the work model where you can prioritize working outside the office, the employees are required to be present more in the office in this hybrid model. 2.

And the other teams can be present on the remaining days of the week. Alternate-week Model: This model is similar to the split-week model to an extent. Improving Tech support: In a working culture where a large number of employees work from home most of the time and only once or twice a week from the office, ensuring the tech framework runs smoothly is a big challenge. Offer wellness breaks: Though the hybrid work model works best for most employees. So to avoid this, companies should provide wellness breaks to their employees to ensure that they work in a healthy state. Working as a team: Hybrid working may create a difference in opinion between the teams or employees working remotely and on-site. To avoid these situations, companies should provide a course of action where employees can meet outside work or online for team-building activities to collaborate in a better way. 2. 3.

  6. 4. Upgrading company benefits: As more employees are inclined towards working remotely, there may be an increase in the expense of utility bills. So, to look after the employees in these situations, companies can provide utility benefits with their salaries. 5.Increasing visibility among different teams: At present, some companies are completely remote, and some work in a hybrid model where selected employees work from the office and rest from home. It often creates invisibility in the work, which may impact productivity.

  7. FUTURE OF HYBRID WORKING Rewinding to the working culture till 2019, many people commuted to work for their 9 to 5 jobs while sharing the office space. But, since the pandemic, all the professionals’ daily working patterns are disrupted, and forced to work from home for almost two years. Adopting a hybrid working model offers connection and interaction between the employees and the flexibility to work from home thereby reducing the operational cost and increasing the efficiency .
