  5. Forthright going straight to the point; frank; direct; outspoken: It's sometimes difficult to be forthright and not give offense.

  6. Serene calm, peaceful, or tranquil; unruffled: a serene landscape; serene old age.

  7. Sympathetic characterized by, proceeding from, exhibiting, or feeling sympathy; sympathizing; compassionate: a sympathetic listener.

  8. Bewildered completely puzzled or confused; perplexed.

  9. Condescending showing or implying a usually patronizing descent from dignity or superiority: They resented the older neighbors' condescending cordiality. (this was the only picture I could find.)
