  1. Curriculum Update 2009-2010

  2. 2009-10 Goals: • Accelerate TAKS gains for economically disadvantaged, African American, and Hispanic students to reduce the achievement gap. • Increase the percentage of underrepresented minority students enrolled in AP, Dual Credit, IB, and Algebra I (middle school) courses. • Increase the graduation rate for economically disadvantaged, African American, and Hispanic students. • Maintain and re-administer the employee climate survey, and develop and implement a similar instrument to measure student morale and school climate. • Fully implement the diversity training plan. • Provide adequate resources for instructional improvement. • Develop a “profile” for each campus in the district to provide basic demographic, academic achievement, and facility data in a consistent and easy to understand format.

Curriculum Update: • All At-a-Glance Maps and Recommended Instructional Timelines were reviewed/revised to reflect December end of the first semester • All At-A-Glance Maps and Recommended Instructional Timelines were revised to align to the newly adopted English Language Arts/Reading TEKS – elementary and secondary • All benchmarks were reviewed/revised to align to curriculum revisions

To close existing achievement gaps… ARRC -- Aligned Round Rock Curriculum • “Teachers are required to use the District curriculum and instruction guides as their primary source of instructional direction. The principal shall ensure that optimum use is made of available written curriculum materials and instructional time.” (EG Local Policy)
