  2. Scripture Study • When you read the scriptures and come across something that you like, something that inspires you, what do you do? • Mark it. How? • What is the point of marking scriptures? • So you can find it again • To remember what it is you learned from it. • Shading helps with #1, but not #2 • Try finding specific phrases or words. • Underline them • Write something to the side • During my lessons, lots of scriptural phrases will be in “quotes”. These are good things to underline, if you feel so inspired.

  5. This is what happens without modern revelation • Satan slowly removes parts of the plan over time, through wicked men and false prophets • Resurrection is the latest victim. Modern Christianity views Heaven as the end. • How much do we take for granted, seeing the whole picture? • Certainly the best missionary tool; people simply understand it

Let’s back up a bit… • Why study the scriptures in the first place? • What happens to you from one end of the plan to the other? • 2 Timothy 2:15-17 • “That the man of God may be perfect” • 2 Nephi 26:23-24 • “he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation” • All Scripture -> Plan of Salvation

  7. Let’s prove it this year • Draw the Plan of Salvation on your designated Front Page • Every time we study a scripture mastery, we will put the reference somewhere in that plan • You are welcome to add other scriptures and insights to parts of it during the year

Here’s another version “The three greatest events that ever have occurred or ever will occur in all eternity are these: • The creation of the heavens and the earth, of man, and of all forms of life; • The fall of man, of all forms of life, and of the earth itself from their primeval and paradisiacal state to their present mortal state; and • The infinite and eternal atonement, which ransoms man, all living things, and the earth also from their fallen state so that the salvation of the earth and of all living things may be completed. These three divine events—the three pillars of eternity—are inseparably woven together into one grand tapestry known as the eternal plan of salvation.” - Bruce R. McConkie
