  1. Welcome! • March 8, 2011 • Board of Directors Meeting • Arrowhead Elementary PTA 6.10.5

  3. Treasurer’s Report ~ February Highlightsfull books are available to any PTA member. Just ask Erin Person, PTA Treasurer

  4. Legislative Update • Legislative Town Hall – This Saturday, March 12th from 10am – noon at Third Place Books • Sen. Chase, Rep Ryu, Rep Kagi • Our legislators need to hear from parents and community members about the importance of Fully Funding education.

  5. Committee Reports & Announcements • Science Fair • Sign up currently going on – weekly prize drawings • Tuesday, March 22nd – great family event, join in on the scavenger hunt • School Dance • Friday, April 22nd • Theme – the 6th graders get to vote on a theme. The theme should be family friendly and appropriate for all ages (K- 6th). Theme should be generic enough so families can dress up. • Classroom Volunteer Training • Tuesday, March 29th at 6pm (will last about an hour) • Even if you do not think you can commit time this year, get trained so you can make that decision for next year.

Committee Reports & Announcements Cont. • Communication Plan Goal • Grow “greener” which means using less paper and moving more online, without compromising the quality of our communication or negatively impacting clubs/events and programs by lack of communication. • It’s a team effort! • Thanks for Angela for creating an amazing & useful website for our PTA • Next Steps • Currently collecting email addresses • Goal is to move weekly flyer online using the communication tool Constant Contact • Setting up trial version – annual cost is $183.00 • Will continue to distribute monthly newsletter this school year.

  7. New Business/Items for Discussion • Art Auction Funds Discussion • GOAL: clearly show how funds from the Art Auction (May 17th) will be used to support the arts (both art and music) • Proposal (after all expenses are paid) • $1,000 Refund art night/art auction line item • $1,050 Fund Classroom art project grants (about $150 per grade) • $750 Fund Drumming Program • $500 Fund MCT • Anything over $3,300 will go back into the general budget.

  8. New Business/Items for Discussion Cont. • Possible Cookie Dough Fundraiser? • Is there a need? Such as emergency prep? • Timeframe for a possible sale? • Chairs for next year • Start finding your replacement OR • Let us know you are coming back

Upcoming Dates • 3/17 (Thurs.) – Movie Night – 6:30pm -gym – free (bring a can of food) • 3/22 (Tues.) – Science Fair – gym- free • 3/23 (Wed.) – 6th Grade Family Night at Kenmore Jr. High – 7pm • 3/26 (Sat.) – Pancake Breakfast –8am- 10am - awesome event ($2 kids, $4 adults, $10 families) • 3/26 (Sat.) – Garden Clean Up –10am – anyone can join • 3/29 (Tues.) – Classroom Volunteer Training – 45 – 60 minutes
