  2. Desktop trouble shooting PROBLEM DEAD (OR) NOPOWER

  3. Step1 Check the power cable by using multi meter or by replacing with working Power cable.

  4. Step2 If the power cable is not ok replace the power cable.

  5. Step3 If the power cable is ok now check the SMPS by shorting the green and black wires and check SMPS fan running or not.

  6. Step4 If the SMPS fan is not running then replace the SMPS.

  7. Step5 If the SMPS is ok then check the voltage at the motherboard front panel power switch connector by replacing the cabinet power switch connector.

  8. Step6 If the voltage at power switch connector is ok now trigger the voltage By using screwdriver.

  9. Step7 If system power is “ok” by trigger, now clean the cabinet power switch By IPA or inter change the power and restart switches or replace the Power switch.

  10. Step8 If the power is not ok by trigger, or if the voltage is not present at power Switch of mother board it is the mother board problem so repair the motherboard, or replace the motherboard.

  11. Step9 If the voltage not present at power switch check the “SIO” and replace it.

  12. Step10 If the system is not ok by trigger re solder the crystal, which is present near south bridge 32.768 kHz and check the south bridge by cold test method.

  13. Step11 If the south bridge is ok then replace the SIO. If the south bridge is not ok then Replace the S/B or mother board.
