  3. Liposuction: • Liposuction is a method to remove fat cells permanently. The procedure is intended for deposits that do not respond well to exercise and diet. Liposuction will not keep you from regaining weight. • People who undergo liposuction usually have a stable body weight but would like to remove undesirable deposits of body fat in specific parts of the body.

  4. Liposuction Procedure • Firstly you will be given anesthesia -the choice of anesthesia will depend upon your health condition. • After that small incisions are made and a local anesthesia solution is infused to reduce bleeding and trauma. • With a thin hollow cannula inserted through the incisions, and a controlled back and forth motion, the excess fat is loosened. The dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula. • Any excess fluid and blood is drained and the treated area is stitched up and bandaged. • Fluid replacement may be required if there is a significant loss of fluid or blood. • The procedure usually takes one to three hours. Most people need to stay in the hospital overnight.

  5. How is it done ? Short incisions are made (3 to 4 mm) in the appropriate area, in which a cannula (small tube) is inserted through which a particular machine then drains the excess fat. A maximum of two to three liters of excess fat is removed during one session.

  6. Before the Surgery Before the operation, patients will need to undergo some health tests to ensure they are fit for surgery. As doctor observed people who use regular aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs should stop taking them at least 2 weeks before surgery. Women may be asked to stop taking the contraceptive pillto avoid any risk. Patients with anemia may be asked to take iron supplementsas per the advice of doctor. In such case the individual will need to sign a consent form which is the important part of such treatment. This confirms that patient is fully aware of the risks, benefits, and possible alternatives to the procedure

  7. Benefits Of Liposuction: • Lymphedema: A chronic, or long-term, condition in which excess fluid known as lymph collects in tissues, causing edema, or swelling. The edema commonly occurs in the arms or legsmost of the patient we have seen. • Gynecomastia: Sometimes fat accumulates under a man's breastswhich is observed most of the time. • Lipodystrophy syndrome: Fat accumulates in one part of the body and is lost in another. Liposuction can improve the patient's appearance by providing a more natural looking body fat distributionthrough out the procedure. • Extreme weight loss after obesity: A person with morbid obesity who loses at least 40 percent of their BMI may need treatment to remove excess skin and other abnormalities which is common in process.

  8. Results: • The results of liposuction will not be clear until the inflammation goes down which is very general or common. In some cases, this may take several monthsalso. • Most of the swelling settles after about 3-4 weeks, and the area where fat was removed should appear less bulkyduring the recovery period. • People who maintain their weight can usually expect permanent results. People who gain weight after the procedure may find that their fat distribution alters also. • Those who previously had fat accumulating in their hips might find that their buttocks become the new problem area in such case go with the doctor advice.
