Volkswagen Joins Hands with D-Wave to Develop Smart Traffic Management System Volkswagen Group on November 6th in Lisbon at the 2018 Web Summit announced that it is developing a smart traffic management system power-driven by quantum computers to enhance global road transport efficacy. The German automaker’s team of software professionals have very recently made a traffic management algorithm that’s powered by quantum computers for predicting the movement of urban traffic precisely. The company statement said, ‘’With this information, public transportation organizations, taxi companies, and transport service providers will be able to deploy their fleets considerably more efficiently while minimizing wait time for passengers." The advantage of putting into use quantum computing for such an intricate work is its speed and massive capacity to understand wide datasets. Supercomputers are usually not progressed enough to make use of such heavy databases of info to develop a customized solution, in this lieu quantum computers are at present the best bet to predict traffic size, transportation demand and journey times. The VW group plans to test this algorithm in Barcelona where the traffic information is profuse. Later on, the company is planning to test it on other cities outside European and American nations. Volkswagen in association with D-Wave is presenting the project. D-Wave--the quantum computing firm is offering the auto manufacturer with quantum computers for this project. The two companies have struck an agreement regarding the project. Further details will be clarified probably post the Web Summit tech conference in Lisbon which is underway at present. In the meanwhile, Volkswagen is also determined of reducing manual performance cars in the near future. As of now, most of the cars from the house that are run in American and European countries don’t have manual functions and are totally dependent on automatic features. However, in India and some other Asian nations, the demand for manual cars is still the same as it was way before in 50 years or so. However, PPS Motors, the authorized VW dealer opined the Indian market may need time to get into completely automatic variants. Tuning the Volkswagen Car service in Hyderabad and elsewhere towards complete automatic models will also take time, said the authorized Volkswagen showroom runner. PPS Motors also runs Volkswagen Service Center Hyderabad in multiple locations.
