  2. THE HOME PAGE Forget your ID? Use “Contact Us” Help system

  3. Log In For The First Time Go to the AHS Website (www.daylilies.org). Locate the link and click to go to the AHS Portal

  4. Log In For The First Time Enter your Username and Password (which is found on the back of your Membership Card). After you log in, for the first time, change your username and password so that your password is private. Can’t find your card? Forgot your ID? Just click on “Contact Us” on the home page and we’ll set you up.

  5. First time Username and Password instructions can be found on the back of Membership Card First change your temporary Username. After you receive the confirmation change your Password.

  6. Review the information that was loaded into your profile and make any corrections. * Is required information. You decide on everything else Any checked boxes on the left allow others to view the information when they visit your profile page Now you can begin to update your personal information.

  7. Complete your data. The red comments under the labels tell you what is not visible to other members Some of the items are just to help you get timely information from the AHS or to allow you to get information from your region/club. Click “Save Changes” when you are finished. Click Cancel if you don’t want to update the profile. Complete your Profile.

  8. Your Personal Site This is yours to define. Your Wall is a place to see updates from friends and visitors. You can limit the traffic or turn off this feature. Your Bio shows what you decided to let people know. Your Feeds are subscriptions to content within the Portal.

  9. Upload Your Profile Picture Hover your curser over the upper left corner of the picture. The trash can will delete your current picture. To load a new picture click on the pencil. Click Browse to find your picture. Click Submit to load the picture.

  10. Set Up Your Preferences Click on Manage Profile to edit what you will send, receive and show on your profile.

  12. Determine Your Preferences Customize your membership profile options using this form. Checking the box next to a specific preference turns the preference “ON”. Read this carefully.

  13. If you don’t want your wall to be seen, do not check “Turn on my Wall.” Your wall displays Posts from Connections, Forums and Groups where you are a member. When you finish, click on “Save My Settings”. You will go back to your Wall.

  14. Manage Profile In Manage Profile each Member may add up to 10 personal pages to their profile home. There is no limit to content on each page. File size is limited to 30 meg. You can add Flash and embed video. You can build a personal website within your personal pages

  15. In Manage Profile, Connections In Manage Profile you can make connections. These are friends, family, colleagues. You locate people by typing their name in Community Search. You can have a chat session with any of your connections who are online when you are. Chat can be set to invisible.

  16. Check Out the Other Features You can invite friends to join the AHS and participate in the site.

  17. Check Out the National Convention When you click “2012 National Convention” you go straight to the Official Convention Website. When you finish, just close the window and continue on the Portal.

  19. Portal Feature – Community Calendar Find out what is happening around the country and in your own Region. Award deadlines are also included.

  20. Portal Features - Groups Every member is automatically registered in the Group for his or her own region. Each Region has an appointed Group Leader who manages Regional pages, forums, blogs, calendars, and photo albums. There are private groups for garden judges and exhibition judges. MaryAnn Pruden is the Group Manager in charge to assist Group Leaders.

  23. Directory and Features Menu Shows Regional Activities down to club level. Your Group Leader is responsible for creating and managing Forums and Calendar. Members can upload images, videos, documents, but no uploaded file may exceed 30 MB.

  24. Regional Forums Regions can create their own Forums on any categories and topics of interest. This is Region 14’s list of topics.

  27. Do A Little Shopping Shop the Media Library Shop for AHS Publications Pay on line via credit card, PayPal, or electronic check. Shop for custom made daylily merchandise at the “We Dig Daylilies” store.

  28. Purchase Daylily Merchandise of all kinds. Tee Money has developed the product designs and will manage the store. Pay on line via credit card or PayPal.

Questions on the portal • The Main AHS Web Site remains online • The Portal is stocked with How-To pages and videos • The Portal has been simplified for 2012 after a year of testing • There’s also a Support Team of people who developed the Portal’s features.   30. Your Region’s Group Leader plus other Region Technology Liaisons are first in line to handle your questions. If you need technical assistance, we have a Portal Technology Department.
