  2. The View from HQ Good news: A rebaseline was completed in October to recover reserves Integration of LAT & GBM with spacecraft is underway HQ support remains strong Old “news”: Spacecraft “issues” continue Schedule threats continue

Users Committee Membership Members were appointed for 3-year terms; most have now served that long Steady-state goal is for 1/3 of membership to rotate off each year To achieve this, we need volunteers to stay on another year or two (please send email to fharnden@nasa.gov) At next meeting (February) new members will attend with all current members (last meeting for those not staying on longer)

Guest Investigator & Fellows Programs GI Program (ROSES 2007): Draft text for GLAST Appendix specifies 2-stage review: Stage 1: Scientific merit (“Regular” and “Large” proposals, each with specified cost caps) Stage 2: Cost reasonableness evaluation for “science winners” Comments on draft solicited from GUC via email Fellows Program (not part of ROSES): Fellows program must be contracted out; several JOFOC or FOC possibilities under consideration: Through a Great Observatory (e.g., Hubble, Chandra)? Via an existing NASA contractor (e.g., ORAU, U. Md.)? Via some “new” contractor? First proposals due November 2007 Selections made February 2008 Fellows to start September 2008
