  13. For Students: - Meaningful Watershed Education Experiences - Field Experiences- Classroom Programs- Schoolyard Opportunities- Service-Learning Projects

Assateague State Park and Maryland Conservation Corps • ASP and MCC staff coordinate and schedule in-class and field trip programs and projects • Education programs are facilitated by trained Maryland Conservation Corps AmeriCorps members • Education programs are aligned with Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum • In- Class Programs are offered year-round and are free of charge • Hands-on learning activities for indoors and outdoors • Interdisciplinary- science, math, arts, social studies, reading, writing

Assateague Field Trips • Offered in the fall, spring and summer seasons • Programs appropriate for grades Pre-K through 12th • Selection of stations from our programs menu- select up to four rotations of stations • Lunch/picnic pavilion and playground • Service charge for field trips is $2.00 per student • Contact for reservations

Service Learning Opportunities • PREPARATION In-class programs- accompany projects and are facilitated in your classroom by EE professionals & natural resource conservation experts • ACTION In- class project component- with students completing in-class research and project development, or providing technical support to projects at local school site Community projects: plantings, beach cleanup; dune fence repair and construction; wetland pond maintenance; trail/park maintenance; kiosk signage and exhibit design; native plant gardening • REFLECTION monitoring, reporting, advocacy, artistic impressions, journaling, etc.
