  2. Grade Levels Goals • Develop Advanced Research methods and Independent learning, generate new ideas and products, develop Higher-Order and Critical Thinking Skills. • Develop Advanced Communication Skills.

  3. Schedule • Elementary students receive gifted services one day per week in a resource TAG class.

  4. TAG Classes • Elementary class size is limited to 22 students. The program includes challenging interdisciplinary units which are grounded in science and social studies. • Continuation criteria include satisfactory performance in both the regular education and TAG classrooms as determined by the school.

  5. What are the chances my child will fall behind in the regular education program? • Regular education classes do carry on as they normally would regardless of students attending additional education classes. • Students are expected to complete homework assignments given on their TAG day. • This provides a review opportunity for work covered in class during the student’s TAG day. • Academic instruction does continue at the normal pacing and may be inclusive of the introduction of new information and material.

  6. Expectations of A TAG Student • Maintain an 80 average + in all classes • Complete all TAG work • Have excellent conduct • Get the TAG TALLY in TAG signed and returned • Read Books for Pleasure • Use Renzulli Learning • Be a hard worker and demonstrate a love of learning

Behavior Scale on Today in TAG • Excellent: Your child completed all of his or her work and had exemplary behavior. • Good: I had to move your child to warning because of his or her behavior or work quality, but he or she returned to excellent by the end of the day. • Fair: He or she either did not finish all his or her work or needed to improve his or her behavior. • Poor: He or She needed to improve work and behavior.

What is TAG QUALITY? • Is My Work TAG Quality??? • My name and the date are located on my assignment. • My assignment uses Higher Order Thinking Skills. • My assignment is unique and outside of the box… • My assignment is clear and concise • My assignment is handwritten, typed, and it is neat and legible. • My assignment is creative, descriptive, and free of Grammatical and Spelling errors. • My assignment has depth and value (utilizing technology & research skills) • TAG Quality is shown throughout all assignments and projects… • I am a TAG student and I will not turn in any assignment less than TAG quality!!! • I know my TAG educator requires me to have no less than TAG Quality on all assignments!!!
