  3. SEATING ASSIGNMENTS • ALWAYS sit in your assigned seat. Seating assignments are NOT punishment they are a classroom management tool.

  4. PROCEDURE FOR EXITING OUR CLASSROOM • CLEAN WORK AREA of all trash • SIT QUIETLY UNTIL YOU ARE DISMISSED (DO NOT LEAVE YOUR SEAT) • When dismissed push in your keyboard tray and chair as you leave.

  5. PROCEDURE FOR ASKING OR ANSWERING A QUESTION • QUIETLY RAISE YOUR HAND • WAIT FOR ME TO CALL YOUR NAME • PLEASE DO NOT YELL OUT AN ANSWER OR QUESTION OR MY NAME! ! ! Quietly

PROCEDURE FOR LABELING YOUR PAPER • PLACE YOUR PAPER IN FRONT OF YOU WITH THE LARGE MARGIN AT THE TOP • WRITE YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME IN THE UPPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER • DIRECTLY UNDER YOUR NAME WRITE YOUR PERIOD NUMBER • DIRECTLY UNDER YOUR PERIOD NUMBER WRITE THE CURRENT DATE • RECHECK ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION NAME, PERIOD NUMBER, CURRENT DATE

  7. PROCEDURE FOR SHARPENING YOUR PENCIL Raise your hand with your pencil in hand. Wait quietly for me to call on you. When told to do so walk to the pencil sharpener and quietly sharpen your pencil. Immediately return to your seat and continue to work.

  8. Classroom Rules • Students are to enter the classroom calmly and quietly and go immediately to their assigned seats. • you are to sit at a 90 degree angle to your desk with your feet on the floorand good posture.

  9. Classroom Rules Continued • Students are to be in their seats and prepared to work when the bell rings. • If you are not in your seat with your materials when the bell rings you are tardy. Start reviewing the objectives and agenda for the day while I take attendance.

  10. Classroom Rules Continued • Students are to show respect at all times and in all manners toward themselves, others, and staff. • This includes all verbal and non-verbal forms of communication including body language, facial expressions and tone of voice.

Classroom Rules Continued • Students are to be on task AT ALL TIMES and work to the best of their ability. • This means you are to be working on whatever assignment is given with all of your concentration. If you finish an assignment early, you may read or sit quietly and wait for others. There is no talking in my class except to address the academic issues at hand.

Classroom Rules Continued • There is absolutely no gum, food, drink, candy, make-up, mirrors, electronic devices or any other distraction allowed in my computer lab. • Any electronics visible will be immediately confiscated and picked up after school. Do not even give the appearance of chewing gum or eating or it will be deemed that you are doing so. Class time is for LEARNING.

Classroom Rules Continued • Students are to be prepared with all papers, pencils, notebooks and any other material required for class. • Never interrupt me about sharpening your pencil, needing paper, throwing out trash, or any other trivial matter during my class instruction. Class time is for learning.

  14. Classroom Rules Continued • You are to raise your hand to get permission to speak. • Raising your hand does not give you permission to speak; it just lets me know you want to speak. You are never to leave your seat without first raising your hand and receiving permission. NEVER LEAVE YOUR SEAT ! ! !

  15. Classroom Rules Continued • If you need to use the restroom you may do so but must sign out the restroom pass. • MAXIMUM restroom time is 10 minutes, if you abuse this privilege you WILL lose it. • Only 2 students per period may use the restroom.

  16. Classroom Rules Continued DO NOTargue with the teacher • If you are asked to move your seat orgiven any other direction you are to do so immediately and without complaint. If you feel this or any other direction is unreasonable you may arrange to discuss it with your counselor or arrange a parent conference on you own time. Otherwise, follow all directions immediately and without complaining. Class time is for learning.

  17. Classroom Rules Continued • When the bell rings, you are to remain in your seat until dismissed. • You are responsible to clean any trash in your area whether it is yours or not. If you enter the room and find trash immediately notify me or it will be considered yours.

  18. Classroom Rules Continued • Respect other people's property. • Consume all food and beverages outside of class (including gum). • Turn off all electronic equipment (cell phones, iPods and portable games ect.). • Attend to personal need before class. • Do not be afraid to ASK QUESTIONS!

  19. COMPUTER LAB RULES • NOfood drinks or gum. • NO makeup application or lotions/creams. • ALL belongings go on the floor or in front of the room. • Computers are for SCHOOL WORKonly. • KEEP IT CLEAN, pick up all trash around your station before leaving. • PUSH your chairs in before leaving. • DO NOT TOUCHmonitor screens.

COMPUTER LAB RULES Continued • WEB RULES: • NO outside CD’s or headphones. • NO chat rooms/ Social networks. • NO games/gaming sites. • NO music sites. • NO e-mail (unless approved by teacher). • Any computer lab rules violation will result in loss of computer use until, the teacher decides you may use the computers again.

  21. CONFERENCE WITH STUDENT. • CONFERENCE WITH PARENT • CLASS SUSPENSION BY TEACHER • OFFICE REFERRAL

  22. Talking, causing a disturbance, leaving your seat without permission, using electronic equipment, disrupting the teacher or other students is NOT ACCEPTABLE! • Doing the work is just half of what is expected of you in my class. The other half is proper attitude and behavior. • DO NOT argue with me when asked to follow a procedure or rule.

  23. I DO NOT GIVE WARNINGS! • This is your warning. Any violations of these rules will be met immediately with a classroom referral and/or other consequences previously explained.

  24. NO EXCEPTIONS! • ALL STUDENTS ARE TO FOLLOW EACH AND EVERY CLASSROOM RULE AND PROCEDURE. NO EXCUSES OR EXCEPTION (except documented medical excuses). • This is your EDUCATION and it will become YOUR FUTURE! Take it seriously!

  25. YOU CAN SUCCED! • Life is made up of little things. It is very rare that an occasion is offered for doing a great deal at once. True greatness consists in being great in the little things.
