  2. Access to Work Access to Workis help you can get from Jobcentre Plus to do your job. You can get this help if you are disabled or need support with your health condition. Access to Workcan also give advice to your employer. Your employermeans the person or people you are working for.

  3. Access to Work Can Help Pay For Equipment that helps you do your job and make things easier to do. Changes to equipment so you can find things easier to use. Travel to work if you cannot use public transport An advocate A job coach

To Apply for Access to Work, you must: Be over 16 years old Live in Great Britain – this means England, Scotland or Wales Already have a job that you get paid to do Are going to start a job that you get paid to do Are self employed - this is when you work for yourself Have an interview for a job

  5. You Cannot Get Access to Work if: You are working and getting money from the government called Incapacity Benefit or Employment Support Allowance. This is money that is paid to you if you cannot work because you are disabled or have been ill for a long time. If you are on Permitted Work, you may get some support for twelve months.

  6. Access to Work If you want help with travel to work, you will have to pay your bus fares and Access to Work will pay the rest. We will also pay for you to have travel training, to learn you how to and from work. If you need help to learn the job at work, Access to Work will pay the whole amount.

  7. Cost Sharing If you have been at work for six weeks and need Equipment to help you do your job or changes to Premises & Equipment; Your employer will be asked to pay some money towards the support.

  8. What Happens When I Contact Access to Work? Customer Service team will answer the phone and ask how they can help. You can tell them you want a friend to help with your application. The Access to Work adviser will ask you questions about the help you need at work. They will fill in the form and post it to you. You can check they have written the right information.

  9. What Happens When I Contact Access to Work? Send the form back to London. An Access to Work Adviser will ring you to talk about the support you need. They will tell you how much money Access to Work will pay towards your support.
