  4. How is a mummy made? • Long and expensive process (70 days) • Wash body • Remove inner organs and dry with natron • Wrap organs and place in jars • Stuff body • Bandage body with several layers • funeral

  5. What is the purpose of mummies? • Ancient Egyptians believed it was essential to ensure a safe passage to the afterlife. • It preserved a home for the “spirit” of the person
