Upcoming Events • MARCH • 30that 7pm– BMES Elections • APRIL • Plant tour to Beckman Coulter – Approximate cost $20 • Thursday March 31st to April 1st • Thursday April 7th to April 8th • Bowling Social at Mineshaft – April 13th at 7pm • 8 people or more - $5 for bowling, shoes, unlimited soda, a  couple slices of pizza per person, and a $5 gaming card.

  3. Available Positions • PRESIDENT • VICE PRESIDENT • TREASURER • SECRETARY • SOCIAL COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON • FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON • INDUSTRIAL COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON • ACADEMIC COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON • WEBMASTER

  4. PRESIDENT -lead executive meetings -public speaking (BMES group functions, Biomed department info sessions) -responsible for providing leadership and direction for the organization -responsible for overall functionality of the group

  5. VICE PRESIDENT -attend MTU student organizations meetings, take notes -responsible for BMES conference booth/organizing conference attendance -connect committees with the tools they need to succeed (website permissions, email permissions) -understand national chapter awards, make sure we are competitive for awards and that appropriate applications are in place for chapter awards

  6. SECRETARY -manage all email correspondence with BMES organization -maintain accurate membership lists (within current year, and from year to year) -schedule meetings -registration of organization from year to year with student activities -maintain online calendar (through Google Calendar) -prepare charter renewal materials -document procedures & protocols within binder for continuity of organization -pick up mail in Student Organization office -take meeting minutes

  7. TREASURER -manage and maintain Wells Fargo Bank Account -responsible for all monetary handling (for activities, fundraising, etc.) which includes keeping an up-to-date spreadsheet with all incoming and outflow cash assets -manage USG funding allocations (how do we get our allocation) -manage USG account (account number, outstanding bills) -prepare budget summary for USG approval

  8. SOCIAL COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON -organize social functions every semester -establish outreach activity with local schools -establish community volunteering project

  9. FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON -manage fundraising for group by brainstorming, organizing and overseeing all fundraising.

  10. INDUSTRIAL COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON -establish connections with Industry -invite industrial partners to meet with group during career fair/other times of year -organize plant tours

  11. ACADEMIC COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON -organize help sessions for freshman and sophomore courses -organize scoop exam files

  12. NOMINATIONS Email your nomination to rrfranke@mtu.eduby Monday March 28th at 5pm. The following Wednesday, March 30th, at 7pm in Fisher 101, at our general meeting, voting will take place.
