What are you glad you did? • Met and married Stephanie Jeffords; produced Jonathan • Listened to and acted on good advice • Succumbed to Peter Farnum’s “relentless pursuit” and joined Weyerhaeuser Company • Helped start the Stand Management Coop • Developed and followed a plan to be financially independent at age 55 • Devoted a minimum of 5% of my personal resources (time, $) to volunteerism

  6. What are you sorry you missed? • More time with interesting people – especially international colleagues • Working with a more diverse team • The joint meeting of the Western Mensurationists and the Western Geneticists

What would a young biometrician do well to adopt as a way of thinking/acting? • Seek, listen to, and follow good advice • Make and follow a sound financial plan • Carry adequate insurance – a responsibility • Take advantage of development opportunities • Give at least 5% of your personal resources to causes you believe in • Stay true to the scientific method; follow data • Do a good turn daily
