  1. Stony Brook UpdateFurther Progress and Further Delay T.K. Hemmick for the Tent Crew

  2. Glovebox • Regen gas re-order: • Likely on Thursday. • Guaranteed Friday. • Arrived Monday • Regen started immediately upon arrival. • Glovebox had risen to ~35 ppm H2O meaning that our caution in closing off the detector was well founded.

  3. Webcasts • Installed camera in tent. • Can watch parameters remotely. • More to follow… Evaporator • GEMs still inside evaporator. • Vacuum fantastic (6 x 10-8 torr) • Ready when glovebox is ready. Dust • Borrowed dust meter and checked glovebox: • VERY clean (single digit countsin many minutes).

  4. Scintillation cube • GEMstack running well under dV=491 in test box. • Observed: • Alphas, • 55Fe • Scintillation Light • Further Measurement: • Nearly full containment of light in pad. • 1.5 p.e. per alpha is correct. • QE is a low (expected)

  5. LEGs Leak Tests • He leak chaser • Best sensitivity achievable • One HUGE leak at apressure relief valve. • Many small leaks • Likely irrelevant. • Repaired anyhow. • Leak free at the sensitivity of this device.

  6. Protection Panel Rebuilt • Matt and Jiayin rebuilt the panel: • Correct meter. • Labels on all functions. • Completely tested. • System will replace LEGs flow with a simple bottle & bubbler on over or under pressure. • Webcam coming…

  7. HBD West Leak Chasing • Three Results (w/o LEGs system): • Argon 4.8 flow: • Ultimate O2 = 12 ppm • Bottle = 4 ppm • Net = 8 ppm. • CF4 flow: • 30 ppm - ?? ppm (need to recheck). • He flow: • 0.0 ppm…weird… • CF4 sniffer is no more sensitive: • Saw no leaks. • Saw that the meter senses the exhaust at the same distance as did the old meter. • Purchased yesterday a “sniffer attachment” for our Helium Leak Chaser. • This will improve sensitivity by orders of magnitude.

  8. Guesses for West Leaks • The detector does leak some. • Helium Leak detector may finally be sensitive enough to see the leaks. • If not, we can resort to: • Replace the window (most likely place) • “Bag off” regions with N2 bags and watch for oxygen response. • We want to have these leaks sealed by middle of next week so that they do not become a schedule driver.
