AMI - Demonstration 1 Car Sharing • Implementation of a new parking slot equipped with an ecological city-car in the area of Pegli • The slot is located in a very suitable place in the centre of a very populated residential area, close to an important chemistry, a medical centre, a supermarket, a school, a church, so it is very accessible and visible for the inhabitants • The new slot, the car and the service are managed by Genova Car Sharing, the company in charge of the Car Sharing Service in the city of Genoa

AMI - Demonstration 1 Why Car Sharing in Pegli? • High demand of car sharing service • Need to extend the car sharing network on the western part of Genoa • Recent extension of reserved bus lanes from Pegli to the city centre (car sharing users are allowed to drive along these lanes) • The only car sharing park slot (existing in the centre of Pegli) needs another one in order to assure the service to the hilly residential area and to assure a lever action (to redouble parking slots means to have a number of users more than double) • The socio-economical level of the selected area complies with the typical car sharing user profile

AMI - Demonstration 2 Car Pooling • AMI realised feasibility study and technical specification of the “car pooling system” • AMI designed the database structure, the management software (included the trip-matching algorithm) and the car pooling web pages • AMI manages the car pooling system (web site servicing, contacts with users, advertising, etc.) • The system collects users’ feedback and processes statistic data

AMI - Demonstration 2 Why Car Pooling in Pegli? • In Pegli there is a very relevant use of private car • The traffic flow is city-centre oriented • Because of the geographical configuration of Genoa (there is only one axis connecting the west part to the city centre of Genoa), it is possible to schedule collective rides even if passengers get in/out in different places • From an analysis conducted by the Municipality of Genoa arises that, during peak hours, the biggest flow of private cars originated by a peripheral area starts from Pegli. Every morning more than 2000 Pegli inhabitants drive their private car in the direction of city centre

AMI - Demonstration 3 Infomobility • AMI realised feasibility study, identified contents (included agreements with content providers) and designed the Contents Management System • The infomobility web site supplies the following real-time services: traffic congestion alerts (both on urban streets and motorway), parking availability, train timetable, webcams, “Navebus” ship service availability • The infomobility web site supplies the following information: news, bus stops localisation (included “Drinbus” on-demand service), car sharing and mobility impaired people parking slots localisation, local measures by Municipality of Genoa, useful links. • Community management

AMI - Demonstration 3 Why an infomobility service in Pegli? • Starting from Pegli it is possible to join the city centre in different ways: by train, bus, ship; private car/motorbike, taxi, car sharing, car pooling (using urban streets or motorway). So, in this context, an infomobility service allowing a full transport choice can be an useful and intelligent solution • The demonstration 2 (car pooling) is a web-based service, therefore demonstrations 2 and 3 can be integrated • It is important to have services running on a web site in order to obtain a good diffusion of them

ILS NRW Demonstrations Two demonstrations in Bielefed • Price reduced public transport ticketing and CarSharing for all tenants of the housing company BGW in Bielefeld (about 11,000 accomodation untis) • Special site related mobility management measures in Bielefeld Ummeln (price reduced CarSharing, price reduced public transport ticketing and improvement of accessibility, mobility action day)

ILS - Demonstration 1 Price reduced PT ticketing and CarSharing for tenants of the housing company BGW in Bielefeld • Price reduced public transport ticketing: • The BGW buys long time public transport tickets (monthly to yearly) as a major customer and is passing the advantage to their tenants • Users of the ticket for tenants are granted a discount of 10% on the subscription • Ticket is valid on all busses and trains in the urban area of Bielefeld and/or for the entire area served by the administration union (“Der Sechser”) • Depending on choice of ticket and range validity annual savings of 40.80€ minimum up to 156.00€ maximum are possible • Additional benefit for both tickets: assignability, possibility to carry a bike in PT, possibility for other persons to drive for free on the ticket at certain times, 30% discount on journeys outside the ticket´s scope, savings on the admission fee for Cambio CarSharing and 20% discount on tickets for the Radstation moBiel at main station

ILS - Demonstration 1 Price reduced PT ticketing and CarSharing for tenants of the housing company BGW in Bielefeld • Price reduced CarSharing: • The CarSharing provider cambio issues the admission fee of 30€ for tentants of BGW • 30% of the first three trips (max.20€ per trip) are taken over by the BGW • condition to be fulfilled: a proofed, valid tenancy contract with the BGW • Mobility information/starter package mobility (planned): • Start-package for new tenants including information about mobility offers; separate product or integrated into common information material related to tenancy • The service teams will be trained to give the tenants information about the mobility measures

ILS - Demonstration 2 Special site related mobility management measures in Bielefeld Ummeln • Implementation of a CarSharing station and price reduced CarSharing: price reduced CarSharing  conditions similar to demonstration no. 1, additionally: • cambio opens a new CarSharing-station; • the BGW adopts proportionally (1,50€) the base fee • the BGW granted a turnover warranty of 550€ • the privileges are represented on the monthly account • Additional mobility offers: • moBiel thinks about the free taking along of an assistant for the target group of the old and needy ones  in Ummeln there could be a trial run • A bicycle service station in Ummeln is planned • In April/May a promotion day to communicate the mobility services and measures and also the cooperation partners in the quarter is to be organised • The BGW thinks about a purchase shuttle-bus which drives regularly from Ummeln to the centre of Bielefeld

Results II • Over 100 people participated in the discussion meetings • Over 200 students took part in the specific demonstrations on alternative mobility

Parameters identified • Availability of PT stops within 300m walking distance • Level of service of PT by number of PT lines serving the relevant PT stops • Accessibility of PT stops concerning barriers hindering direct access • Comfort of the PT stop (seating and weather protection) • Access to “points of interest” such as cinemas and theatres • Availability of schools, kindergartens day nurseries within 300m walking distance • Availability of old people’s homes within 300m walking distance • Access to the bicycle network and to car sharing service point • Availability of green spaces, sport facilities and play grounds within 300m walking distance
