Vision for the Future The Illinois Shared Learning Environment (ISLE) vision is to have a common delivery mechanism for STEM Learning Exchanges to allow for seamless integration of STEM resources and tools beneficial to: • Educators, students, and parents who might need to log into ISLE. • Community members who need open access to resources.   6. Feedback Loop Moving forward with beginning stages of collecting feedback for design.

Feedback Gathering Feedback will be gathered using a combination of methodologies: • Online Surveys – October 2012 • Regional Customer Focus Group Sessions – October through November 2012 • STEM Learning Exchange Feedback Sessions – October through November 2012 • Webinars to include a wide variety of stakeholders • Presentations and meetings with local, state, and national partners • Social media and subscriptions

  8. Focus Groups Feedback Is Critical. Six focus group sessions will be held across the state. The focus groups will include Race to the Top (RttT) participants and partners that represent K-12, Adult Education, Community Colleges, Universities, STEM Learning Exchange industries, and workforce programs. It is important for all participants to register to ensure each small group activity includes representation from each partner category. http://www.ilpathways.com/ISLEFocusGroup

  9. STEM Learning Exchange Feedback • Participate with focus groups, send members of your network. • Disseminate/take online survey. • Begin discussion today to gather feedback.

Requirements Converge • STEM LEARNING EXCHANGES • Curriculum resources • Laboratory space, equipment, and resources • Student organizations • Internships and work-based learning • Challenges and project management resources • Professional development for educators • Career development and outreach • Review STEM models and articulation • Review talent pipeline performance • RttT • Implement at least two STEM Programs of Study • Develop Individual Learning Plans

Other Shared Needs • Educators use STEM Exchanges. • Increase the number of STEM programs that use updated curricula. • Employers are highly engaged and have clear opportunities to volunteer. • Best practices are widely shared and accessible to everyone. • Credentials that can be attained are easy for people to identify as an outcome that leads to employment. • Special tools (of the trade) are made widely available. • Meet academic, technical, and employability standards.

Other Shared Needs • Pathway Program articulation and success: • People can easily see the paths across levels from middle school, to high school, to college or other training programs. • People can find and enroll in schools that offer pathways programs. • Curricula is aligned across levels. • People can easily see how they can earn college credit in high school.
