  8. Signs and Symptoms: Red skin rash Small blisters Fever Fatigue Dizziness Causes: Likely to occur during hot seasons UV light is strongest Usually sunburned already Medications (tetracyclin) Cosmetics Antibiotics What about sun poisoning?

  9. CARE • STAY OUT OF SUN, ESPECIALLY DURING THE STRONGEST SUN HOURS BETWEEN 10-4 pm • WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SUNSREEN • NO RESTRICTIONS ON ACTIVITY • DRINK EXTRA FLUIDS • APPLY ALOE LOTION

  10. How can you be safe? • Avoid long exposure to sun between 10-4 PM • Wear proper clothing that covers skin • Hat, sunglasses, long sleeves

  11. Cont…… • SPF (sun protection factor) 15 or higher • 15-30 minutes before exposure • SPF 15 or higher for lips (lip balm) • Sunglasses (UV absorption)
