  1. The Miracles of JesusLesson 15: Raising Jairus’ Daughter & Healing the Woman with an Issue of Blood Matthew 9:18-36; Mark 5:22-43; Luke 8:41-56

  2. The Raising of Jairus’ DaughterMatthew 9:18-36; Mark 5:22-43; Luke 8:41-56 Setting & Details: The people involved – Jesus, disciples, Jairus, his wife and their 12 year old daughter The request – heal her, raise her The mindset of witnesses -- some doubted, others ridiculed; the disciples followed The miracle – Jesus took her by the hand and said, “Little girl, arise.” Immediately she arose and walked. The responses – The parents were amazed & the miracle was reported throughout the region.

  3. Observations fromThe Healing of Jairus’ Daughter • We must swallow our pride to come to Jesus (Mark 8:34; 1 Peter 5:5-6) • The Lord can do more than we can imagine, and He is not troubled by our pleas. (Eph. 3:20) • Fear not! Only believe! • There will always be those who doubt what the Lord can do, or if He knows what is needed.

  4. Observations fromThe Healing of Jairus’ Daughter As ridiculous as it may seem to us, death is no more than sleep to Jesus. (John 11:11-15) It is wise to cultivate key leaders (Mark 9:2; 14:33) Sorrow is minimized because there is a resurrection (1 Th. 4:13-18) People were amazed at Christ’s power, and they spread the word about it. So should we!

  5. The Woman with the Issue of Blood Matthew 9:18-36; Mark 5:22-43; Luke 8:41-56 The woman’s problem – a flow of blood for 12 years She had received expensive & painful treatment Her condition was worse! The woman’s action – she touched Jesus’ garment in faith. The woman’s healing – the flow stopped Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” The woman fell down before Him and told all. Jesus declared that her faith had made her well.

  6. Lessons fromHealing the Woman with the Issue of Blood There are many worthless physicians. True miracles involved immediate cure. Faith is spread when we acknowledge the truth about how the Lord has met our needs and helped us (James 5:16; Philemon 6) Strong faith is rewarded. We receive more than we ask (Ephesians 3:20)
