  3. The Big Day: • Susan goes to the interview dressed inappropriately wearing jeans, tank top, sneakers and a belly ring. • The employer is quite disturbed and calls Susan’s coordinator.

  4. Class Discussion: • Why would Sassy Susan dress inappropriately for the “Big Day”: • She doesn’t have appropriate clothes and too embarrassed to say her family can’t afford them. • She thinks the interviewer can’t appreciate “class.” • She feels that the outside shouldn't count just what's inside.

  5. What should Susan do? • Call the employer and apologize for not taking appearance seriously and ask for a second chance. • Ask coordinator for assistance in acquiring an appropriate outfit and requesting a second interview with an explanation. • Explain situation to class and tell them that what she did was wrong and a bad reflection on the coordinator, school and program. Remind them to dress for success. • Write a written apology to interviewer explaining situation and or her indiscretion.

  6. Susan should: • Choose any or all of the four answers and attempt to rectify the situation with a realistic explanation of her behavior. • Admit she needs the coordinators assistance for future interviews.
