  2. Ellis Island Did you know that before immigrants came to America they had to go through Ellis Island? They came with hope and tears, with confidence and fear. Come see the sites at Ellis Island where you can see what immigrants lives were like.

  3. The Statue Of Liberty The Statue of Liberty was a symbol of freedom. When people saw it, they started to cry. Some yelled “I hope I never see your face again!”

  4. The Boat Immigrants on a sunny day would go out and dance and play banjos. They slept in bunk beds which were very uncomfortable .People even fell in love and got married.

  5. Inspection Immigrants had to go through a six min inspection by doctors. They would check under the eyelid for trachoma. They would get marked with chalk if they appeared to be sick.

  6. Come Today Enjoy the same experience as your ancestors and come to Ellis island today! Come to the museum where your ancestors set foot from 1892-1954.
