"For material creation, Lord Kåñëa's plenary expansion assumes three Viñëus. The first one, Mahä-Viñëu, creates the total material energy, known as the mahat-tattva. The second, Garbhodakaçäyé Viñëu, enters into all the universes to create diversities in each of them. The third, Kñérodakaçäyé Viñëu, is diffused as the all-pervading Supersoul in all the universes and is known as Paramätmä. He is present even within the atoms. Anyone who knows these three Viñëus can be liberated from material entanglement."

Besides these, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is another, superior energy of Mine, which comprises the living entities who are exploiting the resources of this material, inferior nature. All created beings have their source in these two natures. Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, know for certain that I am both the origin and the dissolution.
