  8. Accidents/Incidents and Near-Misseson Babcock Sites • When working on a Babcock company site –any accidents/incidents and near-misses must be reported to a Babcock representative • The accident book and near miss forms are readily available • This enables proper records to be maintained and after investigation - reviews and remedial action as appropriate • Reducing the chance of harm to another person in the future

  9. The Aim • It is, and always will be, the Babcock vision to get incident occurrences down towards the zero level in line with the ‘Home Safe Every Day’ ethos.

Babcock Expectations of Suppliers • Mature health and safety management system and policies • Insurances • Effective control of risks and safe methods to deliver services • Competence and compliance • ISO and other certifying body accreditations • No placing economic reward above safety requirements • Suitable controls if sub-contracting out work, to reduce risks to all parties

  12. Communications • Babcock understands the importance of effective communication with its supply chain: • Supplier approval process sets out the H & S standards required and allows for dialogue • Ensuring KPIs are fully understood and the importance of adherence to them and the wider implications of safety failings to the general public (due to nature of Babcock clients services) • Pre – works correspondencein the event of contractors coming onto site – including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) • Local site rules for contractors and details of any restrictions • Notification from supplier to changes in method and SSOW
