  1. GMPLS RSVP-TE Ethernet OAM Extensions draft-takacs-ccamp-rsvp-te-eth-oam-ext-00 should read:GMPLS RSVP-TE Extensions to ControlEthernet OAM Attila Takacs attila.takacs@ericsson.com IETF-70 Vancouver

  2. Problem statement • Path liveliness check in packet networks • Periodic messages • Message frequency is configurable • Trade-off overhead vs. fast failure detection • Fit the requirements of services supported by LSPs • Synchronize detection times to account for lower layer recovery • Different message frequency is desirable on a per LSP basis • Path liveliness check in Ethernet = IEEE 802.1ag CFM • The ID is about GMPLS extensions to • Configure and activate IEEE CFM at the same time the LSP is setup • It is beneficial to establish OAM when TE LSP is setup • To avoid operational problems like: mismatches due to separate configuration steps

  3. Focus on: Ethernet PBB-TE and CFM P2p bidirectional LSPs MEP identification info can be default and/or derived from existing LSP parameters Extensions: New TLV in LSP_ATTRIBUTES object Ethernet CFM TLV CCM frequency information New flag in ADMIN_STATUS Monitoring Disabled (M) bit Enable/disable liveliness check messages GMPLS RSVP-TE Signaling Proposal in the current draft Configuration and activation CP Ethernet LSP MEP MEP CCM CCM IEEE CFM OAM DP CCM: Continuity Check Message MEP Maintenance association End Point

  4. Further considerations • Ethernet: CFM • Periodic CCMs • MEP ID, MA ID, MD Level to identify MEPs • IP/MPLS: BFD • Asynchronous mode: periodic Hello messages • Local Discriminator to de-multiplex BFD sessions Lot of similarities  a general solution may be desirable For flexibility  identification of MEPs (BFD sessions) could be supported by the extensions

  5. Next steps • Feedback from WG • Update ID: Generalize current CFM specific model
