  47. Blurbs, continued… • What is the Accredited Estate Planner designation? A. The Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation is a graduate level accreditation in estate planning obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines that make up estate planning: attorneys, accountants, insurance and financial planners and trust officers. The only multi-disciplinary designation in estate planning, it is awarded to estate planning professionals who meet special requirements of education, experience, knowledge, professional reputation, and character.   48. Blurbs, continued… • What is the Council Nominated AEP® program? A. As an affiliated local council, you hold the special honor of nominating eligible candidates for the AEP® designation! The council must submit a board of director’s resolution signed by the president and one additional council officer. Councils are permitted to nominate one (1) candidate in each discipline plus one (1) in any of the four (4) disciplines for councils with less than 100 members and two (2) candidates in each discipline plus two (2) additional in any of the four disciplines for councils with more than 100 members. The application fee for council-nominated AEP® designation candidates is 50% of the regular application fee and must be accompanied by yearly annual dues at the time of application.
