  3. Morning Arrival 7:10-8:00 • Unpack • Make a lunch choice • Morning Work • Check homework together

  4. Specials 8:00-8:40 7 day rotation AND our class is divided!!

  5. Literacy Frameworks 8:40-9:30 • State-provided ideas • Incorporate Writing as response to literature • Family Journal

  6. 9:20-10:35 Reading and Word Study • Reading centers • Small group lessons with teacher • Literacy Paraprofessional to help • Grammar

  7. Lunch 10:30-10:55 • No outside food • Come eat with your child! • Ice cream is $0.50 (separate money)

  8. Math Calendar/Review 11:10-12:00 • Review days of the week, counting, tallies, money • Play Review games • Comet Club (Horizons, EIP, ESOL)

  9. Math 12:00-12:50 • Math Frameworks – state provided math lesson ideas

  10. Phonics 12:50-1:10 • Review of consonant and vowel sounds, gradually getting more difficult

  11. Recess 1:10-1:30 • Weather permitting • Windchill < 45 - Too cold! • Don’t forget appropriate winter clothing!

  12. Science/ Social Studies 1:30-2:00 • Science • Weather/Climate • Magnetism • Light/Sound • Plants/Animals • Social Studies • Location/Landforms • Historical People • Goods/Services • Patriotic Songs

  13. 2:00-2:15 Afternoon Dismissal • No checkouts after 2:00 pm! • No Phone/Email transportation changes • Color calendars; pass out homework and stickers

  14. Homework • Phonics and Math paper each night • Read for 20 minutes each night • No homework on Fridays – for students!

  15. Classroom Management • “No horsing around” • Warnings first • Seahorses are moved when there is unacceptable behavior • Calendar in folder

  16. Communication • Weekly Newsletter • Website updates • Information from Office emailed • Email is best way to get ahold of me

  17. Volunteer in our Classroom! Volunteers • Thank you to our room mom volunteers! • Room mom will need help! • Signupgenius.com for mystery readers (starting next month!)

  18. “Other stuff” • Please join PTA! • Visitors • Take home folder/book pockets • Birthdays
