  2. Mission To prepare AIG students to be globally competitive and responsible citizens by providing differentiated curricula which meet the social, emotional, academic, and intellectual needs of identified and potentially gifted students.

State Definition of AIG Students • Perform or show the potential to perform at substantially high levels of accomplishment when compared with others of their age • Exhibit high performance in intellectual areas, specific academic fields, or both • Require differentiated educational services beyond those ordinarily provided by the regular educational program.

  10. What else can parents do? • Don’t rely on the classroom alone to satisfy your child’s desire to learn. Investigate after-school programs, weekend programs, summer classes, and distance learning experiences. • Gifted children may tend to focus only in areas where they excel because their only standard of acceptability is perfection.
