  2. History/Background The City of Grande Prairie and Aquatera Utilities Inc. enter into a partnership agreement with AWPI: • Why? • When? • How?

AWPI Steering Committee • Formed in the Spring of 2005 our AWPI Committee is co-chaired by Bill Walker, Director of Protective Services for the City of Grande Prairie and Bernd Manz, General Manager of Aquatera Utilities. • Representatives from various government and aboriginal organizations. • Joined Grande Prairie Regional College to form a joint committee after they signed their own AWPI agreement.

AWPI Committee Work to Date • Review of City & Aquatera recruitment processes • Review of City & Aquatera purchasing processes • Joint participation at a job fair last April - another planned for November 2006 • Aboriginal Awareness training presented by Robert Laboucane of Ripple Effects Ltd.
