Structure of the curriculum papers • The Technologies paper has four main headings: • Introduction • Significant aspects of learning • What do breadth, challenge and application look like in the Technologies • Planning for progression through breadth, challenge and application in the Technologies
Points to remember • The number of significant aspects of learning varies from paper to • paper. • Although breadth, challenge and application apply to all curriculum • areas the advice on each will be specific to the curriculum area. • The advice on planning for progression will beparticular to that curriculum area. • There will be additional information in the papers that relate to • responsibilities of all.
Professional learning paper: Assessing progress and achievement • Readings • After reading the introduction assign each member of the group • sections from the following list. • Significant aspects of learning • What do breadth, challenge and application look like in the Technologies? • Planning for progression through breadth, challenge and application in the Technologies
Step 1Individual reading and reflective thinking • Read your section(s) of the paper. • As you read, consider the question: • What are the three most important points in the • section?
Step 2 Group Sharing • Work round the table. • Everyone shares the most important messages from their section of the reading
Step 3 Convergent Thinking • Consider all the responses shared • at your table. • In light of your readings, what are • the main messages in the • curriculum paper which • will need to be considered? • (list up to 5 suggestions) • * • * • * • * • * • Bullet point your suggestions in the middle of the paper.
