  2. Vet clinics often say to take a good care of your pets and do not feed them with all kinds of foods. Apples, apricots, cherries, sour cherries, peaches, plums…. Greater amount of loops, seeds and leaves of this fruit can lead to serious problems for your pet. In these foods there is a substance that contains cyanide and can cause signs of poisoning and difficult breathing, dilated pupils, hyperventilation and shock.

  3. Baking powder, baking soda • These two ingredients are more presented in cakes and can lead to electrolyte misbalance, congestive heart failure or muscle spasm. • Cats really rarely decide to lick and eat powdered substances, but dogs often tend to swallow the whole bag.

  4. Chocolate • Owners are often unaware that a small amount of dark chocolate can be especially dangerous for their pets. • Despite the large amount of fat, black chocolate contains caffeine and teobromid that stimulate the nervous system and can be toxic in larger amounts. The amount of these substances depends on percentage of cocoa in the chocolate. • In worst cases the pet can vomit or have diarrhea, but if it comes to larger amounts the pet can experience anxiety, hyperactivity, muscle twitching, increased urination. In difficult cases it can get an increased heart rate and increased blood pressure and seizures.

  5. Grapes and raisins • When problems arise only aggressive therapy may help to prevent death. Most of the times it comes up to acute renal failure and very quickly the situation deteriorate so it is best to avoid this fruit in the diet of your pet.

  6. Garlic and onions • Dogs and cats lack the enzyme that fully digests garlic and onion and therefore it comes to the creation of gases, vomiting, diarrhea and serious disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Garlic and onions contain thiosulphate, which can cause leading to a breakdown of red blood cells. The symptoms could occur immediately after eating or even a few days later. It can even come to severe anemia and patients without a proper treatment could die.Garlic and onions in any form can cause problems, whether fresh or dried • (powder, granules).

  7. Fatty foods • The remains of lunch, fat from the roast meat, a large amount of sweets are very much wanted by our pets but they are not good for their health. They can cause serious health problems. Vomiting, diarrhea, pain in abdomen are just some of the symptoms. Dogs are very sensitive when it comes to their stomach, so be careful about this. Some breeds are particularly susceptible to the large amount of fat and often develop pancreatitis.Dogs with these symptoms require aggressive treatment. So call the vet immediately, do not wait for the situation to get worse.

  8. Take a proper care of your pet, because if you don’t it may be dangerous for them and even fatal. Make sure you find a reputable and reliable veterinarian for your pet so that you do not run from one vet to another when something happens to your pet. http://www.petvethospitals.ca/
