  2. Properties • Color: A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue • Streak: None. Because it is the hardest mineral. • Hardness: 10 • Cleavage or fracture: Cleavage • Density: 3.5 to 3.53 grams/ cubic centimeter

  3. Elements • made up of carbon atoms arranged in a cubic structure known as diamond lattice

  4. Top 10 countries diamonds can be found in are Brazil, Ghana, Namibia, Angola, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Congo, Botswana and Russia. And the Unites States.

  5. Processing • break and fracture the ore using crushing and milling processes to reduce the particles fed into our automated facilities and "liberate" diamonds.

  7. Uses • About 20% of diamonds found are used for jewelry. The other 80% are used in industry. These uses include: cutting tools, polishing hard metal, phonograph and videodisc needles, and bearings for laboratory instruments.
