Estimated Number of Jobs • Psychiatry is the 4th largest specialty in U.S. • Since 1970, psychiatry has grown 86.7% and 194.6% in child psychiatry. • According to AMA 2009 (American Medical Association) there are currently 7,000 Child and adolescent psychiatrists practicing in the U.S. (Scully, H. James. Wilk, E. Joshua.)
