U.S. Government Working with Industry • The Bush Administration has developed a comprehensive dialogue and relationship with industry. • Customs database for registering marks • Tools & Outreach to assist industry • Law Enforcement Coordination • CACP Developed Supply Chain Toolkit • We are collaborating with Industry to assess progress and determine trade and enforcement priorities.

Working with Global Trading Partners • The U.S. Government has engaged our trading partners in the fight against counterfeiting and piracy. • U.S.-EU Working Group on Intellectual Property • G8 Enforcement Strategy • Security & Prosperity Partnership (SPP) • APEC Anti-counterfeiting and Piracy Initiative • Bilateral Efforts

Upcoming & Remaining Challenges • We are seeing progress in the fight against counterfeiting and piracy, but challenges still remain: • Maintaining high prioritization of IP protection by governments & industry worldwide • Assessing progress in order to target efforts • Engaging all nations to understand importance of promoting and protecting IP • Educating consumers of the damaging effects of counterfeiting and piracy
