  2. setting • East side of town also known as the wrong side of town. After killing bob, phonyboy and johnny take shelter in an abandon church in windrixville. after it catches fire and burn down, they return to their hometown, where johnny dies in a hospital.

  3. Characters

  4. Conflict • The soc’s are on easy street in all ways the outsiders have no parents, no mony, are looked down on and blamed for everything and in ignorance mess up and become guilty of a lot of things but they are good people.

  5. Summary of Plot • Phony can trust his brothers and the greasers gang. But when it comes to the socs there is a whole lot of trouble. Socs is another type of gang but they are’t friendly with the greasers so, they don’t get along. Until one day around midnight something goes terribly wrong they will regret that it ever happened.

  6. Theme • Warn the reader against participation in any gang. • Phonyboy says that socs have better things than the greasers. • Johnny gets killed while trying to rescue children from burring building. • Bob is in the socs gang and got murdered by johnny in selfdefence.

  7. Point of View • Its first person point of view because it says “I” in the book and phonboy is the natrater. • For example in chapter 3 it says “I think they were still half-scared of us.” • “I” was in the sentence (claus)so it makes it first person.

  8. Symbolism * The “outsiders” is the symbol it means you don’t fit with what is considered normal.

  9. Recommendation • I think you should really read this book. • You should read this book because it has lot of powerful characters. • Also it has a lots of good details and you can actually picture it.
