He studied in the School of Arts in Lisbon from twelve to twenty years old. • In 1910 he was scolar in Paris. • From 1911 to 1921 he lived in Arraiolos. • From 1921 to 1926 he return to Paris and he was influenced by Cézanne. • From 1926 to 1933 he came back to Arraiolos and he painted the paintings of the local museum. • From 1933 to 1976 he lived in Porto and he worked as a teacher in the School of Arts till his death.
