Fall 2009 • Welcoming program • Introduce the new students into their learning environment with an around-the-campus rally • Ensure to establish a close relationship between the professors and the students with a BBQ event reuniting all • Give an overview of the program with a friendly food challenge • Apple Picking • Organized near campus, students will be allowed to socialize and live a tradition of Quebec. • Molecular Gastronomy Workshop • Renown expert, Laurent Réveillac, explains and reveals through various recipes the magic between culinary arts and science. • Guestspeakers • Passionated professionals from the food industry will share their knowledge and help the students to orient their careers. • Open house • Students will have the chance to promote our program and increase its visibility by participating in various open houses of schools

Winter 2010 • Fermentation and Brewing Workshop • Students may understand thouroughly the importance of fermentation in food with in-hand recipes and experiments • Sugar Shack • This warm tradition welcomes every student to enjoy a hearty meal of typical Quebec flavors and sugar off to delectable maple taffy. • Beer and Sausage • A mouth-watering array of sausages meets conforting and well chilled beer for a well deserved break from school. • Gastronomical events (Salon Rendez-Vous, CIFST suppliers night) • Devoted students will contribute to the gastronomical world by volunteering or promoting the Food Science program of McGill
