  2. Internet Use Guide NO obscenities! They make you sound trashy, they are unnecessary in any sort of educational communications, and using them makes it difficult for me to take you seriously as one of my students!

  3. Internet Use Guide Downloading If your computer warns you about a download, Pay attention! Losing work for any reason is no excuse for late assignments.

  4. Internet Use Guide Back up your work Computers, unlike corporations, are NOT people. They crash. Also, see previous slide.

  5. Internet Use Guide Don’t Steal! By all means get inspired, but no plagiarizing! Everyone has access to the same information, and it’s too easy to get caught! Besides, it’s more gratifying to invent something you can call your very own.

  8. Internet Use Guide The Reason? Face-to face allows us to perceive various verbal and non-verbal ‘social cues’ as to how the other person is perceiving us.

  9. Internet Use Guide The Reason? Internet communications strips those ‘social cues’, and thus we risk communications with unintended circumstances (i.e. insults, embarrassment, etc.).
