The School of History, Classics and Archaeology • In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, the School achieved third place in the UK (first place in Scotland) for the quality and volume of research in History and Classics • 85 core academic staff members spread over three disciplines; its ca. 60 historians are one of the largest such groupings in UK • 1500 undergraduate students, 250 graduate students – 600 of those from outside of the UK • Attractive new facilities, including work space for undergraduates

International Exchange Programmes • Students can go abroad in their third year • Marks abroad do not count towards their final degree • Two programmes: • International Exchanges; destinations ranging from the United States and Canada to Latin America, Australia, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia • Erasmus Exchanges: Bilateral exchanges with top universities in other European countries, including France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands and Poland
