  3. Who am I? • Software Development Manufacturing/banking/securities • Consulting/Training/WAN/LAN • CPS Vendor subcontractor since 1999 • Full time HS Techco since 2003 • At Harlan since 2008

  4. Day 1 • Talk to principal – have him/her send email to techcoupdate@cps.k12.il.us • The Techco account, GG-Tech-Schoolname • Online Data Acquisition (ODA) assignment for Verify, IMPACT, Fixed Assets, iProcurement • Install Windows 2003 Administrative Tools for XP or activate Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 on your assigned workstation or laptop.

  5. To Do List • Print a recent fixed assets inventory and take a visual inventory of the school. • Find the MDF Room. • Create tickets for devices currently under warranty using the by calling 553-EXCL • Update Fixed Assets (Demo)

Windows Admin Tools • After installing the Admin Tools, you can manage tasks from a workstation. • Log on to your workstation • Open Active Directory Users and Computers • Find School and folders • PPOV: Create usernames for substitutes, student teachers, interns, and guest logons. • Admin Tools Demo

Deep Freeze • PPOV – DF and INSIGHT are two apps which should be installed on every student workstation and laptop • Optional: install DF on administrative and teacher devices for management purposes • Install DF Console. Create and arrange Room (Folders). Self documenting; worth the time. • Feature: Thaw/Locked State Very useful during maintenance periods

INSIGHT • Create separate rooms (Channels) for INSIGHT • Install client with stealth or regular mode • Install Teacher console on workstations or laptops. • Mac version can manage Windows devices. • Install Enable Channel Select option for Multiple Channels • Install software and move files (Demo)

  11. Compliance Logon • Compliance Report – Use Description Area for self documentation (Demo) • Tech XL Self Service (Demo) • Use Export option for Excel Spreadsheets • PPOV – Use Access or other DB to analyze data from Fixed Assets, Compliance Report, and Tech XL Self Service
