Discuss in your team: speed & wrong overtaking • If you were the truck driver: - How could you have prevented this accident ?- Would you have thought someone would overtake you when your are turning left ? • If you were the driver of the overtaking car: - How could you have prevented this accident ?- Why, do you think, did he not do these things ? • If you were the passenger of the overtaking car :- How could you have prevented this accident ?- Should you warn the driver not to speed or overtake when it is not allowed or safe ?

Discuss these learning points in your team.How do I make driving Safe?- Speed: - what if your tyre blew? - are you really in control? what if?- Tyres: - pressure? - condition? type?- Seatbelts: - for all! - correctly fitted (no slack, no folds)?- Turning left: - did you check your mirror? - did you turn your head for the blind spot?- Overtaking: - allowed? safe? - never at or near a road crossing!
